MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133092 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'intelligent air quality, odor control and hygiene management system for enclosure areas and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Hemalatha K; and Monish C.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to an intelligent air quality, odor control and hygiene management system (102) for enclosed areas such as restrooms and sanitary facilities. The system (102) includes a sensor module (204) to detect air impurity parameters, occupancy, and environmental conditions. The system includes a control unit (202) to identify impurity levels by comparing the sensor data with predefined threshold values and generate control signals to actuate a ventilation device (208) and an odor control device (212). The ventilation device (208) may operate at variable speeds, and the odor control device (212) may release fragrance proportionally to the detected impurity levels. The system (102) may further include a sterilization device (210), a learning model (312), and an IoT engine (314) to provide adaptive control, predictive maintenance, and remote monitoring, thereby ensuring energy-efficient, hygienic, and fresh conditions within the enclosure area."
