MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541132904 A) filed by R. M. K. Engineering College, Tiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'intelligent access control and surveillance system integrating facial recognition and rfid readers.'
Inventor(s) include Rajesh Kumar Jayalakshmi Vishal; Pavaiyarkarasi R; and T. Suresh.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Security for any business or school is crucial nowadays, since crime rates have been rising steadily. As the world becomes more technologically advanced, automated methods are being deployed in a variety of industries. In this industry, it will be far more effective. As a result, several automated access control systems are being introduced, including biometric and fingerprint-based systems. However, these existing methods are subject to several problems, which consume a significant amount of time. The objective of the present invention is to develop a tool that leverages facial recognition technology integrating CCTV cameras to accurately identify and locate a person carrying an RFID tag within a specified area."
