MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122550 A) filed by Anupama Shetter; and Atme College Of Engineering, Mysuru, Karnataka, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'integrated smart building management system using arduino and labview.'

Inventor(s) include Anupama Shetter; and Girish M.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A low-cost, integrated Building Management System (BMS) is developed using Arduino UNO and LabVIEW to provide real-time monitoring, control, and automation of essential building functions. The system combines multiple sensing modules, including RFID for attendance tracking, PIR sensors for seat occupancy detection, IR sensors for people counting, and smoke sensors for safety monitoring. All sensor inputs are processed by Arduino and displayed through a user-friendly LabVIEW interface for clear visualization and fast decision-making. The system also issues alerts through a buzzer and GUI notifications to ensure quick response to abnormal conditions. It supports multi-format report generation for efficient documentation and analysis. By integrating these automated sensing and control features, the proposed BMS improves energy efficiency, enhances occupant safety, and provides a scalable, cost-effective automation solution suitable for commercial, academic, and institutional buildings."
