MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511117461 A) filed by Graphic Era, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Nov. 26, 2025, for 'integrated iot-enabled system and method for reservoir sediment flushing, separation, and reclamation.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sanjeev Kumar; and Shikhar Shashank.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An integrated system belonging to the field of water management employs a flushing tunnel and gate system (10) with hydraulic or mechanical actuators for releasing high-velocity water to mobilize sediments from a reservoir, and a flow diversion structure (20) with adjustable guide vanes (22) that directs sediment-laden water toward a sediment separation unit (30) featuring an inlet guide (32) for segregating particles by size and density. The system further includes a sediment collection mechanism (40) to convey coarse sediments, a fine sediment discharge channel (50) with an engineered dilution zone, and an IoT sensor network (60) coupled with an automated control system (70) that dynamically regulates operations based on real-time reservoir data, with a remote communication module enhancing external data transmission."
