MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517076657 A) filed by Trutzschler Group Se, Monchengladbach, Germany, on Aug. 12, for 'integrated drafting system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a drafting system for drafting a carded sliver before it is deposited in a can, wherein the drafting system (1) is arranged on the top side of a can changer (W) associated with the carding machine (K), the drafting system comprising a vertically arranged 2-over-2 drafting system having an upper first pair of drafting rollers (7, 8) and a lower second pair of drafting rollers (9, 10), wherein each pair of drafting rollers comprises a driven bottom roller (7, 9) and a top roller (8, 10) which are mounted on one side on at least one drive housing (4a, 4b) and on the other side on at least one bearing block (18a, 18b) that is at a distance from the drive housing (4a, 4b), wherein the top rollers (8, 10) are pressed against the associated bottom roller (7, 9) with a pressure generated by at least two cylinders (11a, 12a; 11b, 12b) which act on the roller bearings arranged on both sides. The invention is characterised in that the at least two cylinders (11a, 11b; 12a, 12b) are arranged so as to be opposed to each other, wherein the cylinder (11a, 12a) that is arranged on the drive housing (4a, 4b) acts directly on the roller bearings of the top rollers (8, 10), and the cylinder (11b, 12b) that is at a distance from the drive housing (4a, 4b) acts indirectly on the roller bearings of the top rollers (8, 10)."
