MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531130852 A) filed by Kalinga Institute Of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Dec. 23, 2025, for 'integrated digital monitoring system for chronic kidney disease patients.'
Inventor(s) include Pati, Mouli; Asokan, R; and Das, Minati.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An integrated digital monitoring system for chronic kidney disease patients undergoing dialysis therapy comprises a housing containing a processor, a display unit coupled to the processor for presenting information to a patient, a blood pressure sensor, an oxygen saturation sensor, a pulse rate sensor, a weight sensor configured to track interdialytic weight gain, a fluid intake tracking module, a memory storing patient-specific dietary parameters and fluid intake limits, and an alert generation module configured to generate alerts when measured parameters exceed predetermined thresholds or when fluid intake approaches or exceeds patient-specific limits. The processor receives data from the sensors and fluid intake tracking module, processes the received data, compares the processed data against patient-specific parameters stored in the memory, and causes the display unit to present personalized dietary guidance and real-time feedback. The system integrates multiple monitoring parameters into a single unified platform, reducing cross-contamination risks and improving patient compliance through simplified self-monitoring workflows."
