MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123271 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'integrated ai system for agricultural crop recommendation, yield prediction and disease detection.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Mohankumar B; and Mohit Yadav.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides an integrated artificial intelligence system for agricultural applications. The system includes a data collection module configured to receive soil parameter data including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium levels, environmental data including temperature, humidity, pH, and rainfall measurements, and plant image data. A crop recommendation module includes machine learning models configured to process the soil parameter data and environmental data to generate crop recommendations. A yield prediction module includes regression models configured to process historical yield data, crop type data, seasonal data, and the environmental data to generate yield predictions. A disease detection module includes a deep learning model configured to process the plant image data to classify plant diseases. An integration layer combines outputs from the crop recommendation module, yield prediction module, and disease detection module. An output interface presents the crop recommendations, yield predictions, and disease classifications."
