MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084466 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'insect repelling device.'
Inventor(s) include Bhasker Pratap Choudhary; Suman Lata; and Navdeep Prashar.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An insect repelling device, comprising a platform 1 installed with a first and second frames 2, 3 positioned, a chamber 4 is arranged on first frame 2 for storing plurality of mosquito coil, a touch enabled screen 5 mounted on one of frame 2, 3 for entering command regarding ignition of the coil and time period for which the coil needs to be burned, a telescopic pin 6 aligned with chamber 4 to extend to insert pin 6 within a slot fabricated within coil, a camera 7 mounted on frame for capturing multiple images of interior of frame, a telescopically operated clipper 8 equipped with an electric arc igniter 9 to ignite coil, an air blower 10 mounted on platform 1 by means of a ball joint 11 for spreading smoke produced by coil and a motorized scissor 12 to break burning end of coil to extinguish ignited coil."
