According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an eco-friendly black ant repellent disc comprising a cellulose-based carrier impregnated with a hexane extract of Amphineuron opulentum Kaulf. The disc provides a spray-less, biodegradable solution for repelling black ants in domestic environments. The hexane extract is gradually released from the disc, creating an unfavourable environment for ants through behavioural deterrence rather than toxicity. The repellent effect persists for up to forty-eight hours, offering a fixed-duration and safe alternative to chemical sprays. The invention is suitable for use in kitchens, food storage areas, and households, and promotes sustainable pest management without environmental or health hazards."
