MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017913 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'insect repellant system for four-wheeler vehicles.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An insect repellant system for four-wheeler vehicles, encompassing multiple platforms 1 to be installed near the doors of a four-wheeler vehicle, each platform 1 with a chamber 2 for storing dry ice, infrared sensors 3 on each platforms 1 detect insects, while a communication module linked with an inbuilt microcontroller for providing alerts to the user for opening doors of vehicle though computing unit held by the user, an imaging unit monitor status of doors, a Peltier units 4 on each chambers 2 vaporize dry ice into carbon dioxide gas with electronic nozzles 5 configured with each of the chambers 2 release this gas within the vehicle to repel insects, also gas sensors 6 on platform 1 check carbon dioxide levels, triggering the communication module to alert the user to close the doors."
