MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050039 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 20, for 'insect prevention system and method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Leninc; Kabilan K; and Sudheer Kumar E.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system (100) for insect prevention including a mesh (102) to selectively cover an indoor opening, wherein a size of at least one pore of the mesh (102) is adjustable. The system (100) includes a sensor module (104) to detect environmental data at the indoor opening, the environmental data comprising sound data associated with insects. A control unit (202) is operatively coupled to the sensor module (104) and the mesh (102). The control unit (202) receives the environmental data, determines a species of one or more insects around the indoor opening based on the sound data, determines a pore size value corresponding to the determined species, and transmits a control signal to adjust the size of the at least one pore of the mesh (102) based on the determined pore size value, thereby enabling insect prevention without repellents."
