MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517093945 A) filed by Sony Group Corporation, Tokyo, on Sept. 30, for 'information processing device and method.'
Inventor(s) include Naganuma Tomoya; Kuma Satoru; Kato Tsuyoshi; Hayashi Kao; and Nakagami Ohji.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure pertains to an information processing device and method capable of suppressing an increase in processing time for decoding a mesh. The present invention, up to a desired layer, recursively repeats: a first generation process for decoding a bit stream, generating a base mesh, and generating edges and vertexes of a processing target layer of definition, independently for each edge in one lower layer of definition; a second generation process for generating edges and vertexes of the processing target layer for a central triangle in said one lower layer; and a third generation process for generating a triangle of the processing target layer, independently for each triangle in said one lower layer. Thus, the base mesh is subdivided into a desired definition, and displacement vectors are applied to division points which are vertexes of the base mesh subdivided into the desired definition. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, information processing devices, electronic apparatuses, information processing methods, or programs and the like."
The patent application was internationally filed on Apr. 02, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/013546.
