MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517095976 A) filed by Sony Group Corporation, Tokyo, on Oct. 6, for 'information processing device and method, and program.'
Inventor(s) include Tsuji Minoru.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present technology relates to an information processing device and method, and a program, that make it possible to share data between different spatial audio schemes. The information processing device comprises: an acquiring unit that acquires speaker layout information during playback of audio data in a first data format; and a position data generating unit which, on the basis of the speaker layout information, converts first position data of a sound source in a first data format or second position data of a sound source in a second data format having a rendering scheme during playback that is different from that of the first data format into second position data or first position data. The present technology can be applied to metadata converting devices."
