MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527054840 A) filed by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Guangdong, China, on June 6, for 'information indication methods in wireless sensing, and related device.'

Inventor(s) include Naren, Gerile; Hu, Mengshi; Du, Rui; Han, Xiao; and Li, Yunbo.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present application relates to the field of wireless communications, is applied to a sensing system of 802.11bf protocol or next-generation sensing protocols thereof, and particularly relates to information indication methods in wireless sensing and a related device. A method comprises: an STA sends an SBP request frame to request an AP to serve as a proxy thereof to perform sensing measurement, the SBP request frame carrying indication information for indicating whether sensing responders designated by the STA participate in TF sounding, NDPA sounding or SR2SR sounding; and the AP returns an SBP response frame to reject or accept the request of the STA. The present application may enable an SBP initiator to have the function of setting the measurement parameters related to sensing responders. The present application is also applied to UWB-based WPAN systems, etc., which comprise 802.15 series protocols, and can also be applied to WLAN systems of 802.11 series protocols, such as 802.11be or its next generation, i.e. Wi-Fi 8."

The patent application was internationally filed on Dec. 06, 2023, under International application No.PCT/CN2023/136627.
