MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024851 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'infant sleeping assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rupinder Sodhi; Dr. Saurabh Sharma; Shikha Virk; Akash Chandel; and Aparna Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An infant sleeping assistive device, comprising a first platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface and installed with a second platform 2, a cushioned member 3 is for accommodating an infant for sleeping, a microphone 4 receive voice commands for securing infant on suction pad, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 detecting detecting body dimensions of infant, a pair of cylindrical units 6 are translated by a pair of motorized sliders 7 to securely grip infant between units, a motorized two-axis lead screw arrangement providing a suitable bi-directional motion to cushioned member 3 for accurately aligning infant between units, and a speaker 8 plays a pre-saved audio track of infant's guardian to calm infant."
