MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621025632 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on March 4, for 'indole-bipyridyl based compounds and a process for their preparation.'
Inventor(s) include Venkata Sriram Kanvah Gundimeda; Mohini Ghorpade; and Sayan Bera.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to indole-bipyridyl-based compounds and a process for their preparation. The indole-bipyridyl-based compounds of the present disclosure work as a dual functional probes for specifically targeting and staining the endoplasmic reticulum for monitoring and visualising its activities and Zn2+ sensing in live cells. The indole-bipyridyl-based compounds of the present disclosure have a high signal-to-noise ratio and an excellent Pearson correlation coefficient. The present disclosure provides a process for the preparation of indole-bipyridyl-based compounds with higher yield and higher purity. The process of the present disclosure is simple, economical and commercially scalable."
