MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006995 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'incense cone igniting device for repelling mosquitoes.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Priyanka Kaushal; Dr. Harpal Singh; Dr. Pallavi Pahuja; Anshika Devedi; and Ankush Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An incense cone igniting device for repelling mosquitoes, comprises of a C-shaped body 1 utilize to positioned on a fixed surface within an enclosure, a chamber 3 stored with multiple of mosquito repellent incense cones, an IR (Infrared) counter for counting number of the incense cones within the chamber 3, an acoustic sensor for detecting presence of mosquitoes in vicinity to the body 1, a for capturing multiple images of the second portion, a telescopically operated gripper 12 for gripping and positioning the cone on a hole carved at the second portion, a robotic arm 13 installed on the body 1 for igniting the cone via a lighter 14 attached with the robotic arm 13 for producing smoke of the incense cone to repel the mosquitoes away from the body 1, and an air blower 15 for blowing air for spreading the smoke within entire enclosure."
