MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514026629 A) filed by Distance Technologies Oy, Helsinki, on March 23, for 'improving tracking accuracy with head pose.'
Inventor(s) include Mikko Strandborg; Urho Konttori; and Thomas Carlsson.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Tracking means (102, 806) is utilised to track a position and an orientation of a head (206) of user(s) (204, 402, 812) sitting inside a vehicle (202, 404). A vehicular acceleration signal (302) is determined for a first time period (306), based on at least one of: an acceleration, an orientation of the vehicle sensed by sensor(s) (104) during the first time period. Transformation(s) is/are applied to the vehicular acceleration signal to generate a head acceleration signal (304) for a second time period (308), wherein the head acceleration signal is indicative of a change in at least one of: an acceleration, the orientation of the head. An expected head movement of the user(s) is determined, based on the head acceleration signal. The position and the orientation of the head being tracked by utilising the tracking means are refined, based on the expected head movement."
