MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421015179 A) filed by Varroc Engineering Limited, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, on Feb. 29, 2024, for 'improving the performance of an integrated on-board charging system and auxiliary power module.'

Inventor(s) include Deshmukh Nachiketa Basavraj; Deo Mayank Pramod; and Chaudhary Pramod Jagdish.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An integrated powertrain for improving the performance of an integrated on-board charging system and auxiliary power module for a vehicle is disclosed. The integrated powertrain for the vehicle includes an on-board charger (OBC) (103), an auxiliary power module (APM) (107) and at least two non-switching elements (C1, C2) of the 10 OBC (103) are shared with the APM (107). The at least two non-switching elements (C1, C2) of the APM (107)may also be shared with the OBC (103). The shared at least two non-switching elements (C1, C2) are configured to power an auxiliary battery (107) and/or supply power to an auxiliary load from a traction battery (105).The at least two non-switching(C1, C2) elements are at least a first energy 15 storage element. The first energy storage elements are a plurality of capacitors (C1, C2), a top capacitor (C1) and a bottom capacitor (C2) which are configured to be charged alternatively."
