MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202444037629 A) filed by Karpagam College Of Engineering, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on May 13, 2024, for 'improving multimodal emotion recognition and sentiment analysis using xception model.'
Inventor(s) include Surenther I; Chandru V; Janaghan R; and Kanish S.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Multimodal emotion recognition and sentiment analysis using the Xception model. We have chosen to explore textual, sound, and video inputs and develop an ensemble model that gathers information from all these sources and displays it clearly. Our motive for implementing the model was to develop an open-source web application. The platform aims to provide all our emotion recognition models with a user-friendly, straightforward interface. Each communication channel (text, video, and audio) has its own website where we can provide options for users to detect emotions. The results are saved in charts such as bar charts and line charts so users can compare their current emotions with their previous ones, and we can download their results, including visualizations."
