MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617003647 A) filed by W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., Newark, U.S.A., on Jan. 13, for 'improved vent.'

Inventor(s) include Lampert, Zachary; Zhang, Yitian; and Keen, Lindsey.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "There is provided a vent comprising a membrane and a first layer provided on a first side of the membrane, the first layer defining an aperture such that the membrane is exposed through the aperture, the aperture having a major dimension and a minor dimension, wherein the membrane has a machine direction and a transverse direction and the major dimension of the aperture of the first layer is oriented at an angle to the machine direction of the membrane of less than 90 degrees."

The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 30, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/044565.
