MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202544006708 A) filed by F. I. S. Fabbrica Italiana Sintetici S. P. A., Montecchio Maggiore, Italy, on Jan. 27, for 'improved process for the preparation of indomethacin.'
Inventor(s) include Venturino Federico; Semeraro Floriana; Stabile Paolo; and Gesualdi Fausto Gaetano.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Object of the present invention is an improved process for the preparation of Indomethacin of formula (I): (I) by means of the precipitation, crystallization, re-crystallization or re-slurry of the intermediate 4-chloro-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)benzohydrazide in a mixture comprising tetrahydrofuran and a C1-C4 linear or branched alkyl alcohol."
