MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527076785 A) filed by Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Brussels, on Aug. 12, for 'improved ppg measurement.'
Inventor(s) include Morillo, Angel Sole; Stiens, Johan; Gomes, Bruno Tiago Da Silva; Cause, Joan Lambert; and Naranjo, Juan Carlos Garcia.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Improved PPG measurement Device for measuring a photoplethysmogram (PPG) of a tissue: a tissue contact surface (2) for contact by the tissue; a plurality of light emitter units (6) for emitting light in the tissue contact surface (2) with at least three light emitter units (6); a plurality of photodetectors (7) for detecting in the tissue contact surface (2) the light emitted by the light emitter units (6) with at least three photodetectors (7); a signal unit for measuring PPG signals of different optical paths provided by all possible pairs of light emitter units (6) and photodetectors (7)."
