MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511131985 A) filed by Panipat Institute Of Engineering And Technology, Samalkha, Haryana, on Dec. 26, 2025, for 'immersive virtual-reality system for integrated safety training and process simulation in hot metal refining and recycling operations.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Devendra Prasad; Ms. Parul Gupta; Mr. Rohit; Mr. Mukul; and Ms. Tamanna.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an immersive Virtual Reality-based training system designed to replicate the complete workflow of hot metal refining operations in a safe, controlled, and highly interactive digital environment. The system comprises a VR headset, motion controllers, and a simulation engine that generates a three-dimensional refinery layout featuring scrap yards, weighing stations, melting furnaces, holding furnaces, ladle preheating areas, tapping zones, and transport pathways. Through physics-driven thermal modeling, the simulation reproduces heat gradients, molten-metal behavior, and furnace illumination patterns with realistic accuracy. Users perform refining tasks through gesture-based interaction while receiving real-time safety guidance via visual cues and audio alerts. The system further includes performance analytics to evaluate trainee proficiency and operational accuracy. By eliminating physical exposure to hazardous conditions, the invention significantly enhances industrial safety training, reduces operational risks, and provides a comprehensive platform for workforce skill development and metallurgical education."
