Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Imidazo[1,2-A]quinolinium Compounds And Preparation Thereof' Filed by Indian Institute Of Technology

MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641006074 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 21, for 'imidazo[1,2-a]quinolinium compounds and preparation thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Arnab Rit; Nitish Ranjan Mahapatra; Poovitha Sundar; and Subarna Kar.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the field of medicinal chemistry. Particularly, it relates to a novel class of cationic polycyclic heteroaromatic compounds (cPHACs) featuring the imidazo[1,2-a]quinolinium scaffold. It also relates to a process for preparing these compounds. These compounds are useful as an anticancer compound."
