MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202647041009 A) filed by Gyrus Acmi, Inc. D/B/A Olympus Surgical Technologies America, Westborough, U.S.A., on March 31, for 'image-guided endoscope withdrawal control.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Systems, devices, and methods for creating and using a personalized, segment-specific endoscope withdrawal plan to guide an endoscopy procedure are disclosed. An endoscope system includes an endoscope and a controller circuit. The endoscope incudes an imaging system to obtain images or video streams of distinct segments of an anatomy in a patient during an endoscopy procedure. The controller circuit can analyze the images or video streams to generate image or video features for individual ones of the distinct segments of the anatomy. Based on the image or video features, the controller circuit can generate an endoscope withdrawal plan including target or recommended segment-specific endoscope withdrawal parameter values for each of the segments. The endoscope withdrawal plan may be provided to the user or a robotic system to facilitate manual or robotic withdrawal of the endoscope."
