Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Image Encoding/Decoding Method And Device, And Recording Medium Storing Bitstream' Filed by Lg Electronics Inc.

MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517051006 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on May 27, for 'image encoding/decoding method and device, and recording medium storing bitstream.'

Inventor(s) include Koo, Moonmo; Kim, Seunghwan; Zhao, Jie; and Lim, Jaehyun.

The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An image decoding method and device according to the present invention may: acquire residual information from a bitstream; derive transform coefficients of the current block on the basis of the residual information; perform at least one of inverse quantization or inverse transform on the transform coefficients of the current block and derive residual samples of the current block; and reconstruct the current block on the basis of the residual samples of the current block. Here, the inverse transform may be performed on the basis of inverse non-separable primary transform (NSPT)."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 24, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/019176.
