MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517051003 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on May 27, for 'image encoding/decoding method and device, and recording medium storing bitstream.'
Inventor(s) include Koo, Moonmo; Zhao, Jie; Lim, Jaehyun; and Kim, Seunghwan.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An image encoding method and device according to the present disclosure may obtain residual information from a bitstream, derive transform coefficients of a current block on the basis of the residual information, determine a transform kernel of the current block on the basis of a transform index for reverse transformation of the current block, derive residual samples by applying reverse transformation to at least one of the transform coefficients on the basis of the transformation kernel, and reconstruct the current block on the basis of the residual samples of the current block."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 24, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/019110.
