MUMBAI, India, June 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517051030 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on May 27, for 'image encoding/decoding method and device, and recording medium on which bitstream is stored.'
Inventor(s) include Koo, Moonmo; Zhao, Jie; Lim, Jaehyun; and Kim, Seunghwan.
The application for the patent was published on June 13, under issue no. 24/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An image decoding method and device according to the present disclosure can acquire residual information from a bitstream, derive transform coefficients of the current block on the basis of the residual information, apply an inverse non-separable primary transform (NSPT) to at least one from among transform coefficients of the current block on the basis of an NSPT set in order to derive residual samples of the current block, and reconstruct the current block on the basis of the residual samples of the current block. Here, the inverse NSPT can be applied on the basis of the size of the current block belonging to a group of one or more block sizes to which the NSPT can be applied."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 24, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/019175.
