MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517025330 A) filed by Curexo Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on March 20, for 'image-based 3d automatic surgery planning method and system.'

Inventor(s) include Hwang, Sung Teac; Kang, Hyun Jung; and Woo, Dong Gi.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An image-based 3D surgery planning method and system are disclosed. The planning method comprises steps of: obtaining a first image and a second image from an image of a spinal surgery site; obtaining first and second reference lines from the first image and the second image; and obtaining a third image from the spinal surgery site, on the basis of the first and second reference lines, and determining a 3D screw path by setting a proximal setting coordinate and a distal setting coordinate in the central region of at least one of the left and right third pedicles, the proximal setting coordinate being for determining a screw path, the distal setting coordinate being set at or near the center of a vertebral body region."

The patent application was internationally filed on Aug. 16, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/012185.
