MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641019796 A) filed by Kalasalingam Academy Of Research And Education, Virudhnagar, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 20, for 'illuminated serving table identification indicator in restaurants using rfid tokens.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The titled invention discloses illuminated serving table identification indicator in restaurants using RFID tokens eliminates manual table identification, reduces service errors and improves overall operational efficiency and customer experience. The 10 system comprises a data input fed kiosk (10) for order placement and payment, and food serving tables (1) equipped with RFID scanners (5) and brim LED light (6). After placing an order, the customer receives the digital token (2) embedded with an RFID capsule (3) and places it in the token placing slot (4) on a selected serving table. The RFID scanner (5) reads the order number and transmits it to a central control system, 15 which associates the order with the corresponding table. When the order is ready, the central control system activates the brim LED light (6) on the identified table, enabling quick and accurate food delivery or self-service pickup."
