MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441007211 A) filed by Sreejit Saha; and Riddhima Chowdhury, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'illumicut pro precision beyond sight: illumicut pro distal end cutter with integrated led for optimal orthodontic wire cutting.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a distal end cutter (100), comprising a first member (102), a second member (104), pivotally coupled with the first member (102), where the first member (102) and the second member (104) are moveable relative to each other. There is further provided a first jaw member (106) and a second jaw member (108) extending from the first member (102) and the second member (104) respectively, where the first jaw member (106) and the second jaw member (108) are configured to move towards or away from each other depending on the movement of the first member (102) and the second member (104) towards or away from each other. Herein, at least one member of the first member (102) and the second member (104) is provided with an illuminating unit (110) to enable visibility while the distal end cutter (100) is in operation."
