MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441039454 A) filed by Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., Kanagawa, Japan, on May 20, 2024, for 'identifying malfunctions in vehicles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Examples techniques to identify malfunctions in a vehicle are described. In an example, a malfunction indicator displayed on a dashboard of the vehicle 5 is scanned. Based on a malfunction database preconfigured in a system, a malfunction corresponding to the malfunction indicator is identified. The malfunction database comprises information relating to a plurality of malfunction indicators associated with the vehicle. Further, based on the malfunction database, a priority level of the malfunction is identified. The 10 priority level is predefined for each of the plurality of malfunctions. Furthermore, one or more instructions corresponding to the malfunction to be displayed are extracted from the malfunction database. One or more instructions are to vary based on the priority level of the malfunction."
