MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115488 A) filed by Nims University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Nov. 22, 2025, for 'hygiene product with integrated diagnostic grid.'

Inventor(s) include Vaibhav Tamrakar; Akshat Pratap Singh; and Gayatri Panday.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A health monitoring system (100) integrated within a sanitary pad (101) for non-invasive analysis of women's physiological fluids. The sanitary pad (101) comprises a fluid-permeable top sheet (101a), an absorbent core (101b), and a fluid-impermeable back sheet (101c). A diagnostic grid (102), positioned within the pad, includes a substrate with multiple distinct spatial zones (102a) containing colorimetric reagent compositions (103). Upon contact with physiological fluid, the reagents (103) undergo visible colour changes. An imaging means (104), such as a smartphone camera, captures a digital image of the grid (102). An artificial intelligence processor (105) processes the image by extracting colour data, analysing spatial patterns across the zones (102a), and correlating results with predetermined health-related parameters. The processor (105) optionally performs longitudinal analysis by comparing current data with historical records. The system generates a report indicating user health status, enabling early detection of conditions and personalized monitoring."
