Inventor(s) include Jadhav, Mahesh; Shinde, Sagar; Kawane, Vikas; and Mohangekar, Surjit.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure particularly relates to hydraulic power assist steering system (400) that offers a balance between traditional mechanical steering and full-fledged hydrostatic systems. The hydraulic power assist steering system (400) of the present disclosure includes, a column assembly (410), a torque generator assembly (420), a right-angled gearbox (450) and a drop arm (430), wherein the TG assembly (420) mounted on to the right-angled gear box (450) to form a standalone hydraulic power assist steering unit. A drive shaft (442) of the TG assembly (420) may or may not be in removal connection with a gear shaft of the right-angled gearbox (450) with the help of an in-line coupler (460). The assemblage of the drive shaft (442) and the gear shaft (with or without coupler) amplifies the generated output torque for easing the steering of the vehicle. The hydraulic power assist steering system (400) that requires less effort to operate and addresses high output torque requirement."
