MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123224 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'hybrid recommendation system using markov models and collaborative filtering.'
Inventor(s) include Kathiravan Srinivasan; and Rudraksh Padhi.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a hybrid recommendation system for query management comprising a query processing module configured to receive user queries, a Markov model component configured to analyze sequential patterns in the user queries, a collaborative filtering component configured to analyze user behavior patterns, and a query recommendation engine configured to combine outputs from both components to generate hybrid recommendations. The system further includes a duplicate query detection module configured to identify and filter redundant queries by comparing query text against existing queries in a database, and a user interface module configured to display recommended queries to users and capture user interactions. The query processing module preprocesses queries through tokenization, stemming, and stop-word removal, while the Markov model component builds transition probability matrices and the collaborative filtering component calculates user similarity scores using cosine similarity calculations."
