MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541063665 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on July 3, 2025, for 'hybrid non-isocyanate polyurethanes and a process for its preparation.'
Inventor(s) include Dinesh Kumar Chelike; and Senthil Andavan Gurusamy Thangavelu.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a hybrid non-isocyanate polyurethanes and a process for its preparation. The hybrid non-isocyanate polyurethanes of the present disclosure are biodegradable, flame retardant, and obtained from biodegradable polyols, and can replace the existing non-degradable, toxic polymeric products obtained from hazardous precursors. The process for the preparation of a hybrid non-isocyanate polyurethane is catalyst-free, excludes rigorous conditions such as high temperature and high pressure, and provides polymeric coatings in a versatile form."
