Inventor(s) include Rajesh Sadanandam Pashikanti; Ronak Bhausaheb Gaikwad; Khushali Vinayak Raut; Siddhesh Sanjay Sabale; Prathmesh Pramod Sakhare; and Sarthak Rajendra Kathalkar.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hybrid spider robot having eight articulated limbs equipped with wheel modules is disclosed. The robot combines legged and wheeled locomotion to enable efficient movement across varied terrains. Each limb includes joint actuators for positioning and a wheel assembly for rolling propulsion. A control system coordinates limb articulation and wheel motion based on sensor inputs. The proposed design improves stability, mobility, and adaptability, making the robot suitable for inspection, exploration, and surveillance tasks in challenging environments."
