MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122975 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'hybrid copper-silver nanowire synthesis for transparent conductive films.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Aabid Hussain Shaik; Ms. Mouktika Mantry; and Ms. Sanya Sandilya.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a method (100) for synthesizing hybrid copper-silver nanowire thin films. The method includes preparing a copper precursor solution with Cu(NO3)2, NaOH, and deionized water (step 106), heating the copper solution to 60 C in silicon oil bath with continuous stirring (step 110), adding varying EDA amounts 0.1-0.6 mL and hydrazine dropwise to copper solution (step 118), transferring copper solution to oven at 30 C for 1-2 hours nanowire growth (step 126), preparing a silver precursor solution with AgNO3, PVP, and NaCl in ethylene glycol (step 108), heating silver solution at 180 C for 6 hours under controlled pressure conditions (step 120), mixing copper and silver nanowires in 1:2 concentration ratio with ethanol (step 136), and applying the hybrid nanowire mixture to a substrate using spin coating technique to form a transparent conductive thin film (step 138)."
