MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541113834 A) filed by Dr. G. Sundar; Maheshwaran A; Mohammed Shafeeq. M; Pravin Darsan R N; Tamil Priyan M; and Janani. M, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Nov. 19, 2025, for 'human-safe electric fencing: technology for secure and harmless protection.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. G. Sundar; Maheshwaran A; Mohammed Shafeeq. M; Pravin Darsan R N; Priyan M; and Janani. M.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya continue to pose major public health challenges in many regions. Conventional mosquito control methods, such as chemical repellents and insecticides, often cause environmental pollution and health issues due to prolonged exposure. To overcome these limitations, this project presents a Hybrid Mosquito Trap System that combines physical, chemical, and electronic techniques to attract and capture mosquitoes efficiently. The system integrates ultraviolet(UV) light, carbon dioxide (C02) generation, and heat emission to simulate human presence, thereby attracting mosquitoes. Once attracted, mosquitoes are drawn into a trap chamber using a suction fan powered by a low-voltage supply and prevented trom escaping through a non-return mesh. The design operates on hybrid power sources-both solar and AC supply-to ensure continuous operation and energy efficiency."
