MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641042386 A) filed by Gyroscope. One Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, Karnataka, on April 2, for 'hub-less wheel for powering automobiles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a hub-less wheel for moving automobiles which includes a rotor coupled to a stator, the rotor may include a circular rim provided with a plurality of magnets coupled to a rim of the hub-less wheel, the stator include a circular disc with a plurality of slots and a plurality of structures (like a gear) and the stator coupled to the rotor, each of the plurality of structures may include windings, the windings are in a concentrated form or a distributed form on the stator, which when supplied with electrical power is configured to generate an electromagnetic field, which interacts with the magnetic field of the permanent magnets on the rotor, resulting in producing a torque, and results in producing a rotational motion."
