MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079365 A) filed by Nippon Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 21, for 'hot stamped component and method of production of same.'

Inventor(s) include Mori, Yukino; Sengoku, Akihiro; and Mori, Marina.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a hot-stamping shaped article comprising, on the surface of a steel material, a Zn-based plating layer of which an upper layer is a two-phase structure of a G phase and an Fe-Zn solid solution and of which a lower layer excludes the upper layer and is a single-phase structure of the Fe-Zn solid solution, and a Zn oxide layer on the surface of the Zn-based plating layer, wherein the root-mean-square slope R?q of a roughness curve on the surface of the hot-stamping shaped article is at most 0.25, and the area ratio of the Zn oxide layer on the surface of the hot-stamping shaped article is at most 30%. Also provided is a manufacturing method for the same."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 05, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/003673.
