MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517089439 A) filed by Nippon Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Sept. 19, for 'hot-rolling equipment and hot-rolling method.'
Inventor(s) include Aoki, Toshikazu; Niitani, Hiroshi; and Kihara, Yuki.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Hot-rolling equipment for hot-rolling a Cu-containing steel material, the hot-rolling equipment including: a heating furnace that heats the steel material, after casting, to a prescribed temperature; a rolling device that rolls the steel material heated in the heating furnace; a removal device that is provided downstream of the heating furnace and upstream of the rolling device in the conveyance direction of the steel material and removes, from the steel material heated in the heating furnace, a target region that is present on the surface side of the steel material and includes a Cu-concentrated layer where the concentration of a Cu constituent is higher than that of a base material of the steel material; and a post-removal descaling device that is provided downstream of the removal device and upstream of the rolling device in the conveyance direction of the steel material and performs scale removal on the steel material using cooling water."
