MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517075789 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 8, for 'hot-rolled steel sheet and method for producing same.'
Inventor(s) include Matsui Yoichiro; Sumida Eisuke; and Kimura Hideyuki.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a hot-rolled steel sheet having excellent scale adhesion properties, especially flaky peeling resistance properties, even if the hot-rolled steel sheet has a larger sheet thickness; and a method for producing the same. This hot-rolled steel sheet has a prescribed component composition, and scale on the surface thereof, the scale having an average thickness of 25 m or less. The scale has a structure that includes, in area ratio, at least 20% of magnetite, at least 30% of iron and magnetite eutectoid transformation structures, not more than 15% of wustite, and a total of at least 90% (including 100%) of magnetite, wustite, and iron and magnetite eutectoid transformation structures. The arithmetic average roughness of the interface between the scale and ground iron is at least 0.3 m."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 16, 2024, under International application No.PCT/JP2024/000927.
