MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013471 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'hose pipe wrapping assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Sushil Kamboj.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hose pipe wrapping assistive device, comprising an elongated body 1 having a first portion 16 gripped by user and a second portion 2 configured with a omnidirectional wheels 3 for maneuvering the body 1, a touch enabled screen 5 installed on the body 1 for inputting commands for wrapping a pipe, a camera 6 installed on the body 1 for capturing images of surroundings, a gripper 7 configured on the body 1 for gripping and engaging free-end of pipe with a member 9, a springs 12 to compress/expand for moving the discs 13 towards/away from each other for positioning discs 13 in contact with pipes, a speaker 15 for notifying the user to maneuver the body 1 on the ground surface along laid hose pipe and a circular motorized plate 8 configured with the body 1 to rotate for allowing the pipe to continuously wrap over the member 9."
