MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421031742 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Nashik, Maharashtra, on April 22, 2024, for 'holder for securing cable connector in aircraft pylons and racks meant for carrying external stores.'

Inventor(s) include Dwivedi Sunil Kumar; Thakur Santosh Kumar; and Baghel Satyendra.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Stores are suspended under an aircraft with the help of pylons which act as interface between the aircraft and the external stores. One or more umbilical cables are passed through these pylons for communication between aircraft and stores and meeting power requirements of stores. Through various openings the cables with end connectors reach out and are connected to the stores. When the connectors are not in use, they are required to be secured to restrict the free movement during flight and thus preventing the connector from any damage. The present invention is a connector holder assembly (Figure-1) designed to prevent damage of the end connector by restricting its free movement during a flight. Also, these connector holders are detachable type for easy and quick installation and removal. These can be detached and stored on ground when a store is suspended on pylon under aircraft."
