MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133482 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'hillsafe sentinel-multi-sensor edge informed hill slope warning and automated response system.'
Inventor(s) include Uma Maheshwari.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The system relates to a hillside safety monitoring system is designed to indicate the early signs o f slope instability with the help of physical measurement parameters. The system also includes a set of environmental sensors which is fixed across a slope to measure soil moisture, ground tilt, vibration, pore-water pressure, rainfall, and geotechnical conditions. It also includes a processing unit that receives the sensor measurements and it then compares them with predetermined threshold limits that represent unsafe conditions. When one or more measurements exceed the stored limits, the system activates an alert module that provides a warning through audible, visual, or communication-based signals. This arrangement enables continuous monitoring o f hillside conditions and provides it also represents timely notification o f potential slope failure, thereby ensuring safety in landslide- prone areas."
