MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517076159 A) filed by Jfe Steel Corporation, Tokyo, on Aug. 11, for 'high strength steel sheet, method of producing same, member, and automotive part.'

Inventor(s) include Minami Hidekazu; Toji Yuki; Wada Yusuke; and Kawasaki Yoshiyasu.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is a high strength steel sheet that has a TS value of at least 1180 MPa, a high YR and high bendability, and a reduced degree of damage of sheared end faces in a corrosive environment. A high-strength steel sheet having a component composition that contains, in mass%, 0.030% to 0.500% of C, 0.01% to 2.50% of Si, 0.10% to 5.00% of Mn, 0.100% or less of P, 0.0200% or less of S, 1.000% or less of Al, 0.0100% or less of N, and 0.0100% or less of O, with the balance being made up of Fe and unavoidable impurities, and having a steel structure, at the 1/4 sheet thickness position, in which the area ratio of martensite is 40% or more, the area ratio of ferrite is 70% or less, and the volume ratio of residual austenite is 20.0% or less, wherein the value of the ratio of the standard deviation of the Si concentration to the average value of the Si concentration at the 1/2 sheet thickness position is 1.00 or less."
