MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517097595 A) filed by Officine Maccaferri S. P. A., Milano, Italy, on Oct. 9, for 'high-strength metal grid for containment and protection and machine for the production thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Gagliardi, Antoine.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A high-strength protection grid is produced with a plurality of metal wires which are intercalated with metal ropes. The metal wires are interlaced with each other in interlacing portions, or are twisted in twists around the ropes in twisting portions. The interlacings between the wires and the twists of the wires with the ropes define the mesh of the grid. The interlacings and the twists are each unidirectional. The ropes have an external diameter which is greater than the wires and greater than 8 mm, preferably between 9 and 12 mm, even more preferably approximately of 10 mm. The grid is produced with a machine which is provided for the passage of ropes with such an increased diameter with respect to the ropes of the protection grids of the prior art."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 04, 2024, under International application No.PCT/IB2024/052056.
