MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431006176 A) filed by Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on Jan. 30, 2024, for 'high strength coke, method to produce high strength coke and system thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Abhinav Kumar Soni; Asaithambi Suresh; Bidyut Das; Pratik Swarup Dash; Pranav Pandey; Abhishek Kumar; and Ravinandan Thakur.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a high strength coke comprising coal blend and micro silica. The coke comprises plurality of pores disposed with micro silica. The coke has improved coke strength after reaction (CSR) when compared to a coke devoid of micro silica. The present invention further relates to a method of producing the coke. The present invention also relates to a system for producing the coke."
